How Much To Mechadolls Cost?

Warsaw, geography

the palace of culture and science of Warsaw

I arrived in Warsaw on the evening of Friday 8 April from Huelva, after nearly a day of flights and airports in the knowledge that on arrival not find the frozen landscape I saw in December and look forward to extending that concerned about the nature of the places they visit. I stayed in a room with a view in the palace hotel is an impressive building facing the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw.

early morning before the palace

to lack of ice and snow, this Once, walking through the center of Warsaw was a very different and pleasant, spring peered timidly among gardens and terraces, much more bright and feverish in the last winter, but still one has the feeling of walking on a real geography of pain.

plaques executions and deaths are multiplied at each step, the lifting of the Polish resistance against the Nazi invasion in August 1944 caused the greatest slaughter in the history of this city and almost total destruction of the old town. the photographs on display for showing the extent of destruction and subsequent reconstruction left no doubt. City was converted into a real sun, a flat surface, full of debris and bodies, something that hardly can sustraerte as you stroll through its streets.

killed the former ghetto where hundreds of thousands of Jews and from where they left the train to the concentration camps and extermination is now a residential neighborhood impersonal from the communist era.

what hurts most when you see the proximity between the two sides Vistula is to understand how close they were Soviet troops, a stone's throw away, just across the river, and did nothing to help the Poles, or even let the allies use the airfield next to provide help, just let the Germans do the dirty work and then get them. I recalled the events of the '37 Barcelona, \u200b\u200bwhen anarchists and the POUM militants returning from fighting the fascists and were in the rear repression of the Stalinist parties with a weapon that had already wanted them on the front to stop the Franco's army.

back I started reading the highly recommended book, unseen until now in Spain, "Journal of the Warsaw Uprising" (editorial alba), an extraordinary testimony and nothing passionate, first-person narrative by look bialoszewski (1922-1983), considered one of the most original and independent writers in Poland.

Warsaw
but today, beyond of destruction and the ghetto, beyond the omnipresence of chopin and Wojtyla, is a beautiful, quiet, with old trams and running and environmental areas such as Prague district, east of the Vistula, with bars and pubs that remind the Spain of the '80s.

the historic center, and the street tarczyńska 1, in a library basement is the English "elite", a true center of Latino culture in the heart of Warsaw. there madeleine our Cuban friend and Navarre, in charge of a library organized a concert with the English poet and director of the Cervantes Institute in Warsaw, Yolanda Soler, and ate, as a prelude to the meeting "Latin plural" that Yolanda had organized and was dedicated to Mexico.

the concert was called at 12:00. am and left the library to 18.30 pm., certainly the longest literary act in which I have taken part, where we recite, we debated, drank wine and English tapas, reread, read the public offer and continue talking in a strange and happy communion between author and audience that had never before known such a natural and long. and between the public and wonderful people and incorporated into the diaspora of friends in which I converted to transit sites.

Sunday we had again visiting the historic center, a center of demonstrators crowded with Polish flags and distinctly nationalist, commemorating the first anniversary of the crash that life sesegó ultraconservative government of Lech Kaczynski.

my last day in Warsaw, on Monday, April 11 was spent entirely at the symposium "Latin plural" dedicated to Mexico, the Cervantes Institute in Warsaw. morning I had the opportunity to present the documentary and the book "so far from God, poetry northern Mexican border" and in the evening still had an opportunity to talk about the meeting of independent publishers, "edit" as opposed to a large public university with whom I had occasion to speak at the end of the act.

the day was intense and in addition to our hostess, Yolanda Soler, I had opportunity to meet old friends Mexican poets such as Jose Angel Beltran Leyva and admin, or to meet new and past Mexican amber, Eduardo Lizalde, the English abel murcia, Xavier Farré, Krystyna Polish or the great translator rodowska Polish to English, carlos Marrodan among others. finally a dinner with Yolanda and Jose Angel in a delightful restaurant served to keep coming up with new projects that will certainly have to put so much light to the soul of poetry.
